I'd love to hear:

What season are you in and what is one seasonally aligned action you plan to try this month?

I just came across this series on career ecology and devoured it. After a longgggg autumn/winter phase that started during the pandemic, I finally felt a rekindling of my curiosity and motivation this spring. I’ve been savouring it, while also struggling to find a new balance and avoiding a crash & burn kinda situation.

I’m happy this resonated, Lieke! And, same, that’s where I am.

Fall → tentatively into Spring. Working on taking breaks and setting stuff down. If you don't mind sharing, anything you've found helpful when you feel you're headed toward the crash & burn?

Yes, especially during this busy spring phase I notice it’s extra important to take breaks. So put my phone and laptop away, move my body, and find screen free ways to spend my evenings and weekends!

I love the prompt about what quote I would want on a bench. The one that came to mind (though I might need a whole trail of benches to hold all the favourites) was, "Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer."

This feels true to my curiosity and joy when I find the perfect "good" question to ask someone. But it also feels true to this time in my life - very much coming into Spring after a long life's Winter. The aligned actions that I'm committing to are (1) taking on a new role with an organization who I volunteer with, and (2) building community. I was at a retreat over the weekend and made a few new/re-connections that I want to cultivate. These aren't career connections (or maybe they will be)...it's about the community that holds me in my whole life. AND I have an offer to make a connection in my inbox...so following through on that with curiosity.

I love the idea of a whole trail of benches! And that Rilke quote is such a good one, especially for a Spring season after a long Winter. It sounds like you’re moving with intention and also leaving space for wonder, which feels like the best kind of growth.

I’m especially drawn to what you said about building community that holds your whole life. 💚 Cheering you on as you follow your curiosity!
